The 2012 Dennis and Sisis Turf Care Seminar programme sailed into the Isle of Man with a very successful and well attended day at the Ballafletcher Sports Club. Dennis & Sisis were pleased with the event and their well proven format certainly drew in the crowds. Over 70 people attended the day which encompassed a mix of technical presentations and demonstrations ‘on the pitch’.
Following their recent highly successful series of bowling green maintenance seminars in teh north of England and western Scotland, Dennis and Sisis are pleased to announce their next Seminar will take place on Wednesday 23rd May 2012 in Northampton.
Committed to educating greenkeepers on how to maintain and look after bowling greens, Dennis and Sisis delivered two extremely informative, educational and interactive seminars to greenkeepers in Scotland and England.
Dennis and SISIS are taking to the road again with their successful seminar format. This time they're giving groundsmen and greenkeepers on the Isle of Man an opportunity to attend a Turf Care Seminar at Ballafletcher Sports Club on Wednesday 21st March.
Part of the Foundation of King Edward VI Schools is King Edward’s in Edgbaston, Birmingham. This independent establishment has separate boys’ and girls’ sections offering education for 11-18 year olds. Extensive sporting facilities include 5 rugby pitches, 3 cricket squares, synthetic and natural hockey pitches, plus a First XV-First XI field with an athletics track for the boys, and netball and tennis courts for the girls.
Dennis & Sisis concluded their 2011 series of educational events with the recent Groundsman cricket seminar at Essex County Cricket Ground. With Stuart Kerrison, Head Groundsman at Essex CCC, as the host, the programme took on a slightly different format to previous seminars as it extended into the evening and included a floodlit tour of the ground.

The Massey Ferguson Sports and Social Club in Coventry, close to where the iconic tractors were once produced, is a reminder of Britain’s great manufacturing heritage. But these days it also fulfils the important role of a community resource as well as providing leisure facilities for employees of AGCO, the multinational giant that purchased Massey Ferguson in 1994.
Following their Cricket seminar at Uxbridge Cricket Club earlier this year, Dennis and SISIS are once again offering cricket groundsmen the opportunity to attend this successful seminar. The venue this time is Essex County Cricket Club in Chelmsford and the date is Tuesday 22nd November 2011, commencing at 9.00am.

A synthetic playing surface often gets more use than a natural one. It is therefore imperative that Groundsmen should have a regular brushing programme, suitable for the area and usage. A programme of light brush between play, and now and again a more intense brushing to stand the pile or fibre up, is recommended.
