"WHERE IN THE WORLD?" COMPETITION WINNER
Navigating round his cricket ground was all that Charles Johnson was concerned about when presented with his prize of a TOM TOM Satellite Navigation System as winner of the recent SISIS Equipment Ltd / pitchcare.com "Where in the World" Competition. A dozen photos of SISIS turf maintenance machinery in use in countries around the world were displayed together with a choice of 3 locations. The groundsman at Woking and Horsell Cricket Club is kept very busy on the 2.3/4 acre ground. The club has 100 members and 200 Colts, playing at least 6 games a week with 4 on Saturday and 1 Sunday side, plus mid-week games. Charles took on the job only 12 months ago after retirement from a city professional position having caught the "bug" when as a playing member he helped out in a crisis. He has swiftly joined the Surrey Groundsmens' Association and pitchcare for stimulation. 100 years old in 2005, this Surrey championship club can boast the Bedser twins and Geoff Arnold as luminaries who progressed further and played for county and country. Pleasing to see is that Charles prepares his surfaces with a SISIS TR 84 gang mower, SISIS Turfman pedestrian spiker, SISIS Rotorake and SISIS hand rake. Now with his Sat Nav there is no excuse for being late for an away fixture!
SISIS thank everyone who took part in the competition.
